Closing of Volcanic Disaster Prevention Education Program for Young Generation in Bali – Collaboration of Mount Fuji Research Institute and JICA Partnership
The Volcanic Disaster Prevention Education Program for the Young Generation in Bali was officially closed in a ceremony held on June 3, 2025. This program is the result of a collaboration between the Mount Fuji Research Institute (MFRI), the Bali Regional Government, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) through the JICA Partnership Program scheme.
This activity aims to improve the knowledge and preparedness of the young generation in Bali for potential volcanic disasters. Participants from various schools and communities received training on disaster mitigation, evacuation simulations, recognizing early signs of volcanic activity, and emergency communication strategies.
In the closing ceremony attended by representatives from various related institutions, appreciation was expressed for the active participation of the participants and the support of all parties who have made this program a success. It is hoped that the results of this activity can strengthen the culture of disaster awareness in schools and local communities.
As part of the closing ceremony, various works by participants were also displayed in the form of educational posters, evacuation simulation videos, and mapping of disaster-prone areas. These works reflect the high level of understanding and awareness of the participants regarding the importance of disaster preparedness.
With the end of this program, it is hoped that the young generation of Bali will be more prepared and resilient in facing potential natural disasters, and will be able to become pioneers in building communities that are more alert and responsive to disaster risks.
