Collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University and Tarumanegara University at the XII 2022 National Conference on Hospitality Engineering in Bali
The XII 2022 National Conference on Hospitality Engineering was
held by the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University in collaboration with
Taruma Negara University. The conference was held on Thursday, June 30, 2022,
taking place at the Wiswakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Sudirman Campus.
The National Conference on Hospitality Engineering is a routine activity that
is held every year. The National Conference on Hospitality Engineering was
initiated in 2010 with the aim of placing researchers/lecturers in the field of
mechanical engineering with hospitality practitioners. For this year, the
National Conference on Hospitality Engineering does not only involve the
Mechanical Engineering Study Program but also the Industrial Engineering Study
Program in its implementation.
This year's theme is "Digitalization-Based Technology
Innovation Supports the Tourism Industry Towards Zero Carbon". This theme
is raised based on the current conditions that occur in the community. Thus the
development of the tourism industry can come back to life accompanied by the
digitalization of smart products using digital technology but still maintaining
environmental sustainability on sustainable terms called zero carbon. So that
it can make the tourism industry smart and green.
The activity started with a Memorandum of Understanding between
Udayana University and Tarumanegara University. The signing of a memorandum of
understanding between Tarumanegara University and Udayana University was
carried out related to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program. Universities
are advised to collaborate with each other, with the aim of being able to share
and add to the repertoire of insights that each university has. The signing of
the MOU became the basis for the implementation of the tri dharma activities of
higher education carried out between Tarumanegara University and Udayana
University.
"There will be cooperation in an international conference to
be held in Bali by Tarumanegara University. The role of Mechanical Engineering
and Industrial Engineering at Udayana University in this activity is very
important because almost all the technology used in the hospitality sector such
as elevators, boilers, air conditioners, etc. The steps taken to achieve this
goal are to try to guarantee the existence of damage and be responsible for all
the results of technological products that turn out in their development to
produce pollution or pollution. All products produced must be cyclical, that
is, they can be recycled.” explained Dr. Ir. I Gusti Ngurah Nitya Santhiarsa,
MT as Chair of the 2022 National Conference on Hospitality Engineering during
the interview session.
The parties who are invited to collaborate in carbon emission
collaboration are those who can improve the combustion system. If the
combustion system does not produce a lot of emissions, it will be
environmentally friendly. For example, by replacing gasoline cars with electric
cars. His hope for this event is to continue to improve the development of
smart and green technology. Which of course has advanced technological
innovations but still pays attention to the existing environmental impacts so
that they can create a clean and safe environment.
As for the expectations of the Chancellor of Tarumanegara
University, Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan in the XII 2022 National
Conference on Hospitality Engineering said, “Bali is an example of
international tourism. By having a large number of international tourists, we
must present something extraordinary for them. The purpose of this
extraordinary is that local excellence is maintained but we also use modern
technologies so that we can provide efficiency in service to tourists and a
combination of local wisdom and modern technology can be established which can
become one of the positive values ??for tourists.”
