The Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University has successfully held a workshop entitled "Wetlands and Food Waste Treatment for the Green Campus" at Meeting Room II, Dean Building, Faculty of Engineering, Jimbaran on Monday, January 22 2024.

This workshop was attended by students from the environmental engineering study program and enlivened by two reliable speakers in their fields. Martin Anda presented the topic "Wetland," which focused on domestic wastewater treatment, while Andrew Hayim De Vries presented the topic "Food Waste," which focused on domestic solid waste processing. These two speakers discussed innovative solutions to overcome everyday environmental problems.

This workshop was guided by a competent moderator, namely Made Sandhyana Angga, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.Eng. With extensive experience in the field of environmental engineering, this moderator ensures that the event runs smoothly and interactively.

Martin Anda explained in detail about the role of wetlands in domestic wastewater treatment. He underlined the importance of wetland conservation and restoration as a strategy to improve water quality. His presentation provided in-depth insight into how wetland technology can be implemented to maintain wastewater sustainability.

On the other hand, Andrew Hayim De Vries discussed challenges and solutions related to domestic solid waste management, especially focusing on food waste. He highlighted the importance of waste sorting and environmentally friendly processing methods to reduce negative impacts on the environment.

It is hoped that this workshop will not only provide technical understanding to students, but also encourage them to see the potential of environmental technology as a business opportunity in the future. Through the concept of technopreneurship, students are expected to be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired during college to develop sustainable solutions for society.

The Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University hopes that activities like this will continue to provide inspiration and new insights to students, motivating them to become agents of change in maintaining environmental sustainability, as well as creating an environmentally friendly green campus in the future.
