Focus Group Discussion – Expected Learning Outcomes in the framework of AUN International Certification – QA Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University

On Friday, May 20, 2022, the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity to determine Expected Learning Outcomes (ELO) as the stage for submitting AUN – QA International Certification. This activity was carried out in a hybrid way (offline and online) involving lecturers from the AUN – QA committee of the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University as well as stakeholders related to the field of architecture from elements of professional organizations, local governments, and universities that have architecture study programs.


ASEAN University Network International Certification (AUN - QA) is one of the efforts to internationalize graduates of the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, to achieve the vision of Udayana University itself, namely "Towards a World Class University". The Architectural Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, which is one of the leading study programs at Udayana University, is set to apply for AUN – QA international certification in 2022/2023, this is because the Architecture Study Program has obtained accreditation A twice in a row, and last April has been accredited Superior. By obtaining this AUN – QA accreditation later, it is hoped that graduates from the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University can have a career not only in Indonesia, but also have a career internationally, especially in the ASEAN Region.



In the process of applying for this international certification, the Architectural Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University must prepare a Self Assessment Report (SAR), which contains a report on the input from students of the Architecture Study Program, how the learning process is carried out, and how the competence of graduates after entering the workforce is. In the SAR, there is an Expected Learning Outcome (ELO) that needs to be compiled as a guide/guideline for curriculum preparation and course distribution in the Architecture Study Program. The preparation of this ELO refers to the competencies set out in the IQF, 13 competency points determined by IAI, and 37 architect competencies determined by UIA. In an effort to complete the ELO that has been prepared by the AUN-QA committee for the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, feedback is needed from relevant stakeholders, alumni, and other graduate users through this FGD (Focus Group Discussion) activity.



FGD activities in determining ELO for AUN – AQ certification started at 15.00 WITA, which was attended by stakeholders consisting of professional organizations, namely, IAI, Inkindo, and DAI; local governments, namely, BAPPEDA Bali Province, Public Works Office of Badung Regency, and Denpasar PUPR Service; and other universities that also have architecture study programs, namely, Warmadewa University, Ngurah Rai University, and Dwijendra University. The event was opened with a report from the Chair of the AUN – QA Committee for the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, namely Dr. Ir. Ni Ketut Ayu Siwalatri, M.T, then continued with remarks from the Coordinator of the FT Architecture Study Program, Udayana University, Tri Anggraini Prajnawrdhi, S.T., M.T., MURP, Ph.D.


This FGD activity was guided by Prof. Ir. Ngakan Putu Sueca, M.T., Ph.D. as moderator. The discussion activity lasted for approximately two hours, discussing the 7 ELO items that had been prepared by the AUN – QA Committee for approximately 3 weeks, and stakeholders were given the opportunity to provide feedback on the 7 ELO items tailored to the competency needs of graduates of the study program. architecture in the work industry, based on the perspective of each stakeholder representative. "There are 7 important points of feedback as a result of discussions with representatives of these stakeholders, which will later be used to refine the 7 points of ELO that have been prepared by the previous AUN-AQ Committee," said Tri Anggraini, Coordinator of the Architecture Study Program, FT Udayana University.
