Discussion of the FT Unud leadership with SETIA Management in the Dean's meeting room
The meeting with SETIA Management was attended by the Dean, Deputy Dean II, Mr. Yabe Masanori (SETIA Management) and Prof. Made Supartha Utama, who previously met with the Rectorate of Udayana University. In his presentation, Mr. Yabe said that the internship participants will be fully borne by the relevant industry where the student carries out his internship. These costs include living expenses during the internship, accommodation, travel tickets and insurance. However, the number of students who can take part in the internship will be selected after students are required to take part in preparation activities, especially Japanese language training for 6 months at a cost from SETIA Management. The selection of apprentices will be carried out by the industry where the internship is located, including the Japanese language mastery of the prospective participants.
The Faculty of Engineering welcomes this offer of cooperation which will then be followed up with a Memorandum of Understanding and a Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions to be used as the basis for the implementation of this activity. Furthermore, the Faculty of Engineering will schedule socialization to students to provide broader understanding and information via online related to this activity. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D. revealed “there will be a selection for students who can participate in preparation activities to carry out internship training in Japan. After this training, there will be a selection from the company so that those who pass can do an internship in Japan for 6 months. Faculty of Engineering institutions will reward students who successfully pass this program by converting 20 credits of courses”.
ned that this program will be prepared at the end of this year with an estimated internship selection in the even semester of 2023. Students can take part in this internship program with a span of six months to one year. Previously, students were required to make preparations in the form of Japanese language training for 4 months due to the industry they would be communicating using Japanese. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in the interview session expressed his hope that this collaboration can be carried out immediately so that the Main Work Indicators can be achieved for students who take part in the Independent Learning Program-MBKM Independent Campus through an independent internship program. In addition, it can further expand the wings for the Faculty of Engineering in establishing international cooperation with Japan and opening up networks with global industries. Hopefully this internationalization process can run well and can produce graduates of the Faculty of Engineering who are more able to compete internationally.
