RESEARCH COOPERATION VISIT FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UDAYANA UNIVERSITY TO ANDALAS UNIVERSITY AND UNIVERSITY OF NORTH SUMATRA
The Faculty of Engineering Udayana University (Unud) conducted a visit/Benchmarking to Andalas University (Unand) and the University of North Sumatra (USU) on October 14-15, 2024. The benchmarking which was attended by 15 lecturers and 5 education staff was in order to improve cooperation between universities, especially in the fields of research and innovation. The Vice Dean I who in this case represented the Dean of FT Unud, as the coordinator of the visit to FT Unand and FT USU said that the Faculty of Engineering Unud seeks to build synergy with other universities that have similar Engineering Study Programs, in order to improve research collaboration, curriculum development, and joint scientific publications, establish research cooperation and improve relations between higher education institutions in the field of engineering.
The group was received by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Unand Dr. Ir. Is Prima Nanda, S.T., M.T., accompanied by Vice Dean I Prof. Dr. Eng. Muhammad Ilhamdi Rusydi, ST., MT, and Vice Dean II Devi Chandra, ST., MT., several lecturers and education staff. In this meeting, both parties discussed various collaboration opportunities. Collaboration is expected to create good synergy between academics and researchers to produce innovations that are beneficial to the wider community. The Dean of FT Unand provided opportunities for collaboration that will be held, development of student exchange programs, and research collaboration. With a new spirit in building a global education network, the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University hopes that this collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University can be a successful example in advancing higher education and technology in Indonesia. The visit continued to the Department of Engineering at FT Unand to observe research facilities, laboratories, and superior research centers.
The group visited the Faculty of Engineering, University of North Sumatra (USU) on October 15, 2024, received by Vice Dean 3 FT USU Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPM., several lecturers and education staff. In line with FT Unand, Vice Dean 3 FT USU also welcomed the opportunity for cooperation that will be held, a concrete plan for research cooperation involving lecturers from both universities, and the opening of opportunities for lecturer and student exchanges in the near future. In this meeting, FT Unud wants to establish more cooperation in the field of research, increase the number of joint scientific publications in national and international indexed journals, open opportunities for lecturer and student exchanges in the near future, and establish good relations between the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University and the University of North Sumatra. The visit was continued to the Department of Engineering at FT USU to conduct observations of research facilities, laboratories, and leading research centers.
This Research Cooperation Visit to FT Unand and FT USU is one of the real steps to strengthen relations between the academic world and research institutions, which is expected to accelerate the pace of innovation in Indonesia and create various technological solutions for future challenges.
