The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University held the Launching of the Application of Occupational Health and Safety at the Loby of the Faculty of Engineering, Jimbaran Campus, Friday (20/5/2022).

This activity is in order to support the International Accreditation of Study Programs within the Faculty of Engineering as part of Udayana University's Internationalization Policy towards World Class University. The launching event was marked by the use of a vest by the Chancellor to the Dean and staff and the raising of the Occupational Health and Safety flag by the team.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., Ph.D. in his report, he stated that this activity was in accordance with the vision of the Faculty of Engineering, namely how to implement the Tri Dharma of a sustainable Higher Education that was recognized both nationally and internationally. To get international recognition, of course, we must follow an international evaluation, one of which is international accreditation. Likewise with National accreditation where the Faculty of Engineering will follow the LAM-Engineering Accreditation Institute and LAM-Infokom which emphasizes the importance of implementing Occupational Health and Safety at universities or institutions.

Those involved in the design of Occupational Health and Safety to compile the document are the taskforce team, all study programs and PLP in each study program. They are the spearhead in dealing with Occupational Health and Safety. He hopes that the Occupational Health and Safety culture that will be built at the Faculty of Engineering and at the university level can hone students to understand what Occupational Health and Safety is which will later become a provision for them after graduating and working in foreign agencies. "This is a long-term hope", he said. Meanwhile, in the short term, it is to support the internationalization process of the existing study programs at the Faculty of Engineering and later also to support the progress of Udayana University itself.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Udayana University expressed his gratitude to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and his staff for initiating Occupational Health and Safety at the Faculty of Engineering. "We don't even have this unit yet and we will soon follow up with this team and we will ask for help to build it at the head office so that later in all faculties and units at Udayana University there will be an Occupational Health and Safety unit," he said. In relation to the relevance of Occupational Health and Safety, this is one of the indicators or requirements when the study program at Udayana University is programmed to international accreditation. It is hoped that later the international accreditation program or journey at the Faculty of Engineering and other faculties can be streamlined and there is a guarantee that we have done something in accordance with the parameters required by the internationalization program of the accreditation. Hopefully this will have an impact and it is hoped that this will be a 'lesson learned' from other faculties that do not yet have this unit.
