The Industrial Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, Conducts Community Service in Seraya Timur Village

The Industrial Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, conducted a community service activity focusing on Marketing Strategies for Tuna Serabon Products in Seraya Timur Village, Karangasem District, Karangasem Regency. This activity aims to help improve the welfare of local fishermen by strengthening the competitiveness of processed seafood products.

Seraya Timur Village is known as one of the fisheries centers in Karangasem Regency, with tuna being one of the main catches. Fishermen and the local community have traditionally processed tuna into serabon—a fish-based product with a distinctive flavor. However, the biggest challenge faced was limited marketing strategies, which have resulted in suboptimal product reach.

The community service team from the Industrial Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, provided training and mentoring on modern marketing techniques, attractive product packaging, and the use of digital media for promotion. In addition, the team helped identify market opportunities and expand distribution networks to increase the awareness of serabon products, both locally and regionally.

Through this activity, it is hoped that the fishing community of Seraya Timur Village will not only be able to increase sales but also increase the added value of local products, thus positively impacting the village economy.

This community service activity demonstrates Udayana University's commitment, particularly the Faculty of Engineering, to applying science and technology to support sustainable development in Bali.
