Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University Holds “Shared Space” Workshop with University of Technology Sydney

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University officially opened the “Shared Space” Workshop, a collaboration with the University of Technology Sydney. The event was held at the Faculty of Engineering Campus, Udayana University and was attended by students from various study programs who were enthusiastic about exploring this innovative concept.


The workshop aims to introduce and discuss the concept of shared space, an approach to designing public spaces that integrates road users by considering safety, efficiency, and sustainability. This concept has been applied in various cities around the world as a solution to create a friendly and inclusive environment.


In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University conveyed the importance of international collaboration in enriching students' insights and experiences. "This workshop not only provides new knowledge, but also opens up opportunities for collaboration in the future. We hope that students can implement this concept in their academic and professional projects," he said.


The event was filled with speakers from the University of Technology Sydney and lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University who also shared local perspectives on the application of the shared space concept in Indonesia. Interactive discussions and Q&A sessions were the most anticipated moments for participants, who seemed very enthusiastic about delving deeper into the concept.


This workshop is expected to provide new insights for students about the importance of public space design that prioritizes balance between humans, the environment, and technology.
