TBTN (Back To Nature Technique): Community service as a form of community contribution and concern

The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, held an annual activity called “TBTN (Back To Nature Technique)” in Baturiti, which aims to emphasize the importance of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education for students, namely education, research, and community service. This activity involved the Vice Dean III and his staff, village officials, and students of the Faculty of Engineering.

The main focus of TBTN is community and environmental service, paying attention not only to the aspects of education and research, but also to the development of creativity and a sense of concern for society and nature. Through this activity, it is hoped that students can better understand the importance of maintaining a balance between academic education and social responsibility.

The series of TBTN activities this year include community service to villages and temples, cleaning irrigation channels, and village research. The active involvement of students in activities like this is believed to strengthen their sense of concern for the environment and increase awareness of the importance of nature conservation.

The Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Engineering said that this activity is expected to be the first step that encourages students to be more involved in activities that support sustainable development at the local and national levels. Support from village officials and the Baturiti community is also a key factor in the success of this program.

TBTN 2024 has succeeded in strengthening the relationship between students, academics, and the surrounding community, demonstrating the Faculty of Engineering's commitment to continue to foster concern for the environment and community service as an inseparable part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
