Towards Superior Accreditation, Faculty of Engineering prepares Four Study Programs
The Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University held a Workshop on Preparation of Conversion Supplement Instruments in the context of Preparation for Accreditation of Undergraduate Study Programs within the Faculty of Engineering in 2022 towards Excellence. The four study programs prepared are Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
The four study programs participating in this quarantine activity are study programs that have received A accreditation through the BAN Accreditation Institute, PT. Mechanical Engineering Study Program has been internationally certified through the AUN-QA certification body. This preparation workshop was carried out for three days starting from Monday, March 14, 2022 until ending on Wednesday March 16, 2022, starting at 08.00 WITA until 20:00 WITA. The workshop was held in the Wiswakarma Hall, Faculty of Engineering, Sudirman Campus.
This workshop was carried out by preparing the four study programs with the aim that the completion of reports can be carried out quickly and on time considering that the mentoring process from both UPPS internal parties and assistance at the university level can be carried out before the deadline for uploading documents to BAN PT before March 30, 2022. Present to provide assistance during the workshop were the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, as well as assistance by the internal assessor of the Faculty of Engineering, namely Prof. Ir. I Gusti Bagus Sila Dharma, MT., Ph.D and Dr. Ir. I Ketut Gede Sugita, MT.
The enthusiasm of the four study programs in completing the report can be seen from the seriousness and persistence of the task force team in the reporting process and the discussions that took place between the task force team and internal assessors. Great hope and confidence from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, I Ketut Sudarsana, ST., MT., Ph.D, the four study programs can achieve superior accreditation so as to improve performance and accreditation of Udayana University.
During the three days of preparation, each study program received considerable benefits in completing the report. Teams can work effectively. Reports for undergraduate programs that must be completed and become the focus include the presence of permanent lecturers, study program curriculum, quality assurance system, and tracking of study program graduates. These four points must be completed in a short time and efficiently through this workshop.
This is in line with what was said by one of the coordinators of the study program at the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University. “This workshop is very useful and facilitates coordination with the task force team and UPPS, it can also communicate with other study programs so that they can share knowledge and problems in document resolution. This quarantine is also effective, especially in direct assistance from internal assessors so that we know the strategies in completing this report," said the Architecture Study Program Cooperative, Tri Anggraini Prajnawrdhi, ST., MT., MURP., Ph.D. The implementation of this report preparation workshop received full support from UPPS/Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, the UP3M team of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University and UPIKS, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University for the smooth implementation of the workshop, especially the provision of data for each study program and the implementation of tracer studies.
This workshop activity received special attention from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University. The Dean said that study program accreditation is part of the implementation of quality assurance carried out by an external party, namely the BAN-PT accreditation agency, which will later be carried out by an independent accreditation agency. Study program accreditation status describes the implementation of education in study programs starting from the process of determining, implementing, evaluating, controlling and improving from national standards.
Accreditation ranking is not the final goal, but is the estuary of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi process that has been carried out in the study program. As a form of accountability of an institution to the community, it is necessary to evaluate or take pictures by external parties.
"Changes in the study program accreditation instrument from 7 standards to 9 criteria, then S1 study programs with an A accreditation rating need to convert to Superior by completing the UTI document," said the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
This conversion is carried out based on BAN-PT Regulation Number 2 of 2020 concerning Conversion Supplementary Instruments. BAN-PT uses UTI for the implementation of the conversion from accreditation rating A to accreditation rating Superior; from accreditation rating B to accreditation rating Very Good; and from C accreditation to Good rating. With the increase in the accreditation rating of superior study programs at the Faculty of Engineering and other faculties within the Udayana University, it will help the institution become a higher education institution with a legal status.
