Civil Engineering Udayana University Holds International Guest Lecture Collaboration with Universiti Malaya and Universitas Gadjah Mada

Jimbaran, May 5, 2025 – Civil Engineering Udayana University held an International Guest Lecture on May 5, 2025, with the theme Sustainable Infrastructure. This activity is a series of Short-term Mobility Programs organized by Civil Engineering Universiti Malaya to Civil Engineering Udayana University.

This program presents three main speakers who share the latest academic and research insights related to sustainable infrastructure issues:

Ali Awaludin, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D, Lecturer in Civil Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, delivered material on Nature-based Solutions for Sustainable Construction. In his presentation, he explained the importance of using a nature-based approach in planning and building infrastructure that is resilient to climate change and natural disasters.

Associate Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Yuen Choon Wah from Universiti Malaysia raised the topic of Sustainable Transportation. He emphasized that transportation is part of human needs that go hand in hand with world development. Congestion and public transportation are related causes and effects.

Prof. Dewa Made Priyantha Wedagama, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D, Professor of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, presented material entitled Motorcycle and Transport Sustainability in Bali. He explained the challenges of transportation in Bali which is dominated by two-wheeled vehicles, as well as strategies and policies to create a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation system.

The event, which took place in the Faculty of Engineering Meeting Room, received high enthusiasm from students and lecturers from the three institutions. The discussion session was active with various questions about the application of green technology and transportation policies in various countries.

In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University expressed his appreciation for the implementation of this program and hoped that Udayana University Civil Engineering students could carry out the return visit program.
