Faculty of Engineering Students Achieve Brilliant Achievements at NESCO 2, Winning Gold Medal and Third Place

In an effort to strengthen the presence and contribution of students in the national academic competition arena, students from the Faculty of Engineering have once again demonstrated achievements worthy of appreciation. At the 2nd National Essay Competition (NESCO), two students achieved impressive results, winning Gold Medals and 3rd Place, an achievement that not only represents individual quality but also reflects the competitive and productive academic atmosphere within the Faculty of Engineering.

The competition, organized collaboratively by PRISMA, STIMATA, and the State University of Malang, ran for three days, from April 17th to 19th, 2026. The event was centered on the State University of Malang campus, where participants from various universities across Indonesia gathered, creating a platform for the exchange of ideas, critical thinking, and innovation based on scientific writing.

The participating students were Ayundina Oktavia Bella from the Mechanical Engineering Study Program and Dhani Nugroh Qita Pratama from the Industrial Engineering Study Program. Throughout the competition, which progressed through stages, from administrative selection and essay assessment to the presentation and final judging, both students demonstrated outstanding work not only in terms of ideas but also in strong argumentation, theme relevance, and depth of analysis.

Winning the Gold Medal demonstrates their work's superior value compared to other participants, while winning 3rd Place also demonstrates consistent quality, maintaining a competitive level. This achievement is certainly the result of a lengthy process, from idea development and development to ongoing revision.

More than just an individual achievement, this achievement also reflects the institution's role in creating an academic ecosystem that supports student development. The Faculty of Engineering is considered successful in encouraging students to focus not only on theoretical aspects in the classroom but also actively participate in various competitions that hone critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

This achievement is expected to inspire other students to continue participating in similar activities. Competitions like NESCO 2 are not only a showcase of skills but also a learning platform that provides valuable experience in facing challenges at the national level.

Moving forward, the Faculty of Engineering is expected to continue producing outstanding students who are not only competitive but also capable of making real contributions through ideas and innovations that impact the wider community.
