PSDIT FT Unud Seeks Outstanding Research Talent through TKD and Interviews for 40 Prospective Doctoral Students for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Doctoral Program in Engineering (PSDIT), Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University (FT Unud), conducted a Basic Competency Test (TKD) and interviews for prospective new students (camaba) in the Doctoral Program in Engineering online on Monday, May 18, 2026, following the English Proficiency Test and Academic Ability Test (TPA) on Saturday and Sunday, May 9-10, 2026. This activity is part of the academic selection process to identify prospective doctoral students with strong research readiness, competence, and potential.

A total of 40 prospective students participated in the selection process, representing various engineering disciplines, including Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. This diversity of backgrounds demonstrates the high level of interest among prospective students in pursuing their education in the Engineering Science Doctoral Program at Udayana University's Faculty of Engineering. The enrollment was 38 students in the previous academic year. The selection process was conducted online, prioritizing the principles of objectivity, transparency, and academic quality. The selection process began with a participant verification process, which included presentation of their Examination Participant Card and identification (KTP/Passport). During the Basic Competency Test (TKD), participants were assessed on analytical thinking skills, logical reasoning, understanding of research methodology, basic academic skills, and readiness for doctoral education.

Meanwhile, during the Interview Test, 13 interviewers, divided by field, explored various important aspects such as motivation to pursue doctoral studies, research readiness, academic and professional experience, planned dissertation topics, potential research novelty, and commitment to completing their studies on time. Through this selection process, the PSDIT FT Udayana University hopes to accept qualified, innovative doctoral students who are able to contribute to strengthening research, developing technology, and increasing competitiveness at the national and international levels.
