The National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Engineering Deans Forum (FDTI) was successfully held on Monday through Tuesday, March 30–31, 2026. The event took place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. WITA (Central Indonesian Time) at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Bukit Jimbaran Campus.
This year's FDTI National Working Meeting was attended by deans of engineering faculties from various public and private universities throughout Indonesia. This event served as a strategic forum for formulating policy directions for engineering higher education, strengthening collaboration between institutions, and improving the quality of engineering graduates to enable them to compete globally.
Over the two days, participants participated in various important agenda items, including plenary sessions, focus group discussions, and presentations of work programs from each field. Issues discussed included strengthening industry-based curricula, developing research and technological innovation, enhancing international accreditation, and synergies between universities and the business and industrial worlds.
Furthermore, this National Working Meeting also served as a platform to evaluate the previous FDTI work program and develop future strategic plans. Participants actively provided input and recommendations to strengthen the FDTI's role as a forum for coordination and communication among engineering faculty leaders in Indonesia.
The 2026 FDTI National Working Meeting (Rakernas) is expected to produce concrete steps to improve the quality of engineering education in Indonesia and strengthen the contribution of higher education institutions to supporting technology- and innovation-based national development.
The event concluded with the approval of the National Working Meeting's recommendations, which will serve as a reference for implementing FDTI's future work programs. The atmosphere of togetherness and collaborative spirit fostered throughout the event demonstrates the commitment of all FDTI members to advancing engineering education in Indonesia.
