PSDIT FT Unud Launches Doctoral Research Clinic to Foster High-Quality Research and Global Networking

Denpasar, October 21, 2026 — The Doctoral Program in Engineering (PSDIT) at the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, held a Doctoral Research Clinic titled “Strengthening Research Excellence, Building International Collaborations, and Unlocking Research Funding Opportunities” on Wednesday (October 21, 2026), via Zoom. The event served as a platform to strengthen doctoral research capacity—specifically by identifying key research topics, enhancing the quality of scholarly publications, expanding collaborative networks, and improving access to research funding at both national and international levels. Attended by 53 participants, the session was opened by Prof. Ir. NMAED Wirastuti, ST., MSc., PhD., IPU., ASEAN Eng., representing the PSDIT at the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University.

The Research Clinic featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhamad Asvial, M.Eng., from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Indonesia, as the guest speaker. During his presentation, he discussed strategies for developing high-impact research, strengthening global collaborations, and optimizing research funding opportunities. He also highlighted Udayana University’s status as a State University with Legal Entity (PTN-BH) standing, which provides broader prospects for research development and funding access. Consequently, it is essential to maximize the use of internal grant schemes—both within the Faculty of Engineering and through Udayana University’s Directorate of Research and Community Service—while also increasing participation in various national and international research grant programs. These efforts are expected to bolster the research ecosystem, boost the productivity of reputable scholarly publications, and expand academic collaboration networks globally.

During the interactive discussion and research clinic session, participants engaged in active dialogue regarding strategies for publishing in reputable scientific journals, securing research funding, and exploring opportunities for faculty members employed as Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) to access and obtain research grants. This discussion served as a forum for sharing information and experiences, aimed at broadening participants' understanding of funding opportunities and strategies for developing competitive research. The session featuring the guest speakers was moderated by Prof. Dewa Made Priyantha Wedagama, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.
