A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was held to strengthen the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Curriculum for the Udayana University Engineering Doctoral Program.

Udayana University, through the Doctoral Program in Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled "Academic Guidelines and Curriculum Transformation Based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)" on Saturday, April 25, 2026. The event took place in the Senate Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Agrokompleks Building, Denpasar Campus.

This FGD was held as part of a strategic effort to improve academic quality and strengthen the competitiveness of doctoral study programs, both nationally and internationally. The main focus of the activity included developing an OBE-based curriculum, strengthening academic standards for doctoral programs, and improving the quality of research and scientific publications.

The event began with participant registration and an opening ceremony, which included singing the national anthem "Indonesia Raya," a prayer, and remarks from the Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Engineering, Prof. Ir. Ni Made Ary Esta Dewi Wirastuti. The event was then officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ir. Linawati.

The main session featured speakers from the University of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. The event was led by Dr. Muhamad Asvial, who presented material related to the transformation of the OBE-based doctoral program curriculum to achieve national standards and international competitiveness through strengthening research and scientific publications. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Dewa Made Priyantha Wedagama.

Further material was presented by internal academics from Udayana University, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Lie Jasa on the academic guidelines for the doctoral study program, and Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Setiawan on the development of the OBE curriculum. The event included an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session to deepen participants' understanding of the material presented.

In the afternoon session, participants were divided into two discussion groups to delve deeper into the academic guidelines and OBE curriculum. This discussion involved various facilitators and reviewers, consisting of professors and doctors from the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University.

Through this FGD, it is hoped that the Doctoral Program in Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, will be able to produce academic guidelines and a curriculum that are adaptive, innovative, and aligned with global needs. This is an important step in producing superior, competitive doctoral graduates who can make a real contribution to the development of science and technology.
